Abstract

Behavior and customs in the local community Programs such as STBM (Sanitasi Total Berbasis Masyarakat) and triggering are useless. Latrine facilities are underutilized by several parties. They conflict with each other. Data collection for latrine ownership status is not well organized (it is not synchronized with city and sub-district data), and health officers/cadres do not understand the different types of latrines; the importance of this research is demonstrated by the fact that there are both permanent healthy latrines and semi-permanent healthy latrines. Local wisdom in using healthy latrines in Batam City's hinterland will be the basis for this study's efforts to empower the local community. There were two parts to the study. Surveys and questionnaires were used to gather information on the type of latrine used and the factors that influence latrine use, which was evaluated using the Chi-square (α = 0.05) statistical method. We used three (3) approaches to examine the second stage: data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion. The model's appropriateness was evaluated using the Hosmer and Lemeshow test. The number of samples in the Batam City hinterland sub-district cluster was estimated using the Slovin and cluster random sampling approaches. Latrine use was shown to be connected with the type of latrine utilized at a p-value of 0.05. Seven of the 16 community parameters correlated with latrine utilization were significant. 94.6 the utilized logistic regression model properly predicted the percent of the conditions. According to this research, people who reside in permanent homes are 4800 times more likely than those who live in semi-permanent homes to use latrines. The likelihood of utilizing latrines is 303 times higher for people who say they are comfortable with having them permanently placed with septic tanks.
