The Major Turns In Translation Studies

Abstract

The present paper examines the significant shifts/developments in Translation Studies since its emergence as a separate field of study in the early 1970s. The paper discusses the major shifts in the development of translation studies, such as descriptive translation ttudies, Polysystem theory, the cultural turn in translation studies, translation as rewriting, and translation and post-colonialism. It also discusses how these developments shaped later turns in translation studies.
