Abstract

This paper reveals Turkish position on the Kurdish problem since the beginning of the republic. The Kurdish question involves the aspiration to self-determination of the Kurdish people; their continuing fizzle to acquire a state of their own; the problematic accommodation within the states where they live; and the desire for recognition of their rights. Kurdish Question is a critical issue across the West Asian region, affecting Turkey, Iraq, Iran, and Syria. The paper will broadly analyze how the armed conflict began between the Kurds and the Turkish government, the role of PKK militants in the conflict, and how the Turkish government is responding to the conflict. Kurdish people are facing lots of challenges and difficulties in maintaining their cultures due to the effect of the Turkification of ethno-cultural identity. Kurdish group upraises in different periods, but the Turkish government controlled those uprisings by the use of military actions, detention, and put behind the bar. It explores Erdogan’s view on the Kurdish Question and how he is trying to deal with the issue. This descriptive study will highlight the overall situation of the Turkish-Kurdish Conflict and will conclude by providing different valuable suggestions regarding the solution of the conflict.
