Contemporary Discourse On Political Islamic Vision And Neo-Colonialism (In The Perspective Of Urdu Nazm)
Main Article Content
Abstract
Neo-Colonialism is a political situation and postmodernism a theoretical position working side by side in the present global phenomena. Both of which are linked with colonialism and modernity, commonly considered to be the basic causes of Islamist’s decline especially in the perspective of their religious identity. After gaining the neo-colonized liberties, the thinking patterns and social fabric of such conditioned societies could not be decolonized properly and neo-colonialism (post world-war 2nd) versioned the situation particularly after the decline of Russian Marxism. Later on, events like Youm-e-Kippur War (1973) and 9/11 caused a heated discourse on Islamic thoughts and Neo-Colonialism. This historical phenomenon has also been there textualized in the cotemporary Urdu poetry. As in the research paradigm termed as ‘‘literal sociology’’ we discuss a social fabric in the light of literary text, hence in this article we are going to repeat such practice focusing on the religio-political discourse among Islamists and the West in the special perspective of Urdu poetry.
