Abstract

The Muslim World League was founded in 1962 to promote Islamic teachings and principles, defend the interests of Muslims, and support education and relief work. It aims to promote cooperation and understanding among Muslims and between Muslims and non-Muslims, protect the sanctity of Islamic sites, and combat extremism and discrimination in the name of religion. It also works towards peaceful coexistence and a just international order based on human rights and social justice. The League has observer status in various international organizations, and its headquarters are located in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Its highest legislative body is the General Islamic Conference, and it has a Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and a World Supreme Council of Mosques
