Abstract

The demand for improving employee performance based on universities' career and performance systems has become a must in this 4.0 revolution era. This demand requires the creation of lecturers and staff who are professional, qualified, knowledgeable, highly skilled and have attitudes that support the implementation of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi program, namely education and teaching, research and, community service. To achieve this, it is necessary to develop the knowledge and abilities of lecturers and staff that ant to their duties and responsibilities in the academic field at universities. One of the efforts to level establish the performance of university lecturers and employees is to develop an Islamic work ethic model. Therefore, this study time determines the implementation of Islamic work ethics in improving the performance of university employees. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive data analysis. The results of the study survey that Islamic work ethics in universities provide a very vital role because universities are places to educate people to get a higher education so that every employee in universities, both lecturers and teaching staff, must be able to understand and implement appropriately to the AP for lecturers as educators, they must be able to provide the best education and maintain confidentiality and other lecturers' code of ethics. Meanwhile, educators must give full service to students and other academics so that the learning process in higher education can run smoothly.
