Identification And Assessment To Improve The Interest Of The Talents Of Children With Special Needs In Indonesia

Abstract
This study aims to determine the process of identifying and assessing the talents and interests of children with special needs in inclusive schools in Indonesia. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach. The technique used in this research surveys. The respondents of this study were 354 teachers/heads of inclusive schools throughout Indonesia. The data collection method used a questionnaire in an online form related to identifying and assessing the children with special needs' talents and interests at inclusive schools. Descriptive quantitative techniques analyzed data. The results show that identifying and assessing the talents and interests of students with special needs is very important so that schools/teachers can provide appropriate education, teaching, and mentoring to support students' talents and interests. With the results of this study, it is hoped that the central government and the government in every province in Indonesia can establish policies to identify talent and interest assessments and foster the talents and interests of children with special needs in inclusive schools throughout Indonesia.
