DETERMINANTS OF THE FOUNDATION'S SUCCESS IN TREATING SOCIAL WELFARE PROBLEMS IN KARANGASEM REGENCY, BALI PROVINCE

Abstract

Bali Province consists of nine regencies/cities. According to Central Bureau of Statistics data, among the nine regencies/cities, Karangasem Regency has the highest percentage of poverty, and social welfare problems such as poverty, neglected children and neglected elderly people in Karangasem Regency are also high. To overcome these social welfare problems, the role of various parties is urgently needed, because the government will not be able to overcome these problems entirely. The Foundation is one of the institutions that are partners with the government in dealing with social welfare issues. With good governance, the foundation's potential to become big is very open. But the reality on the ground is that not all foundations can develop and carry out their vision and mission in dealing with social problems, most of them are in poor condition and cannot operate anymore due to difficulties in operating costs. This difficulty is experienced by the foundation because there is no donation from the donator. There are several things that cause a foundation to not receive support from donators, including the social capital of the foundation manager, the application of the principles of Good Corporate Governance and the role of social media. This research was conducted 1) testing and analyzing the influence of social capital, Good Corporate Governance and social media on donor trust, 2) testing and analyzing the influence of donor trust on handling social welfare problems in Karangasem Regency, Bali Province, 3) testing and analyzing the effect of social capital, Good Corporate Governance and social media on the handling of social welfare problems in Karangasem Regency, Bali Province, through the trust of donors, 4) examine and analyze the influence of social capital, Good Corporate Governance and social media on the handling of social welfare problems in Karangasem Regency, Bali Province. This study uses primary data by involving the donors of foundations in Karangasem as respondents with a total of 110 people. In addition, this research also involves resource persons from foundation managers, village officials, beneficiaries and also foundation volunteers. Data analysis was carried out using quantitative methods, using path diagram analysis and structural equation models. The results showed that social capital, good corporate governance and social media had a significant effect on donor trust. In addition, social capital, GCG, social media also have a significant effect on handling social welfare problems in Karangasem Regency through the trust of donors. And social capital and social media also have a significant effect on the handling of social welfare problems in Karangasem Regency.
