Abstract

Prediabetes is a condition in which a person's blood glucose level is above normal, but does not meet the diagnostic criteria for diabetes mellitus (DM). Risk factors for prediabetes in the era of globalization are unhealthy lifestyles, including the consumption of fast food, foods high in carbohydrates and fats, low-fibre foods and lack of physical activity. Heredity is a risk factor that cannot be changed so that efforts can be made to prevent the incidence of diabetes, namely through healthy lifestyle management in the prediabetes group. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of healthy lifestyle management on knowledge, attitudes, behaviour, and blood sugar levels in the prediabetes group in Ternate City. The design of this study used a pre-experimental (one group pre-post test design), which was to analyze the causal relationship by involving one group of subjects. The population in this study was the entire prediabetes group. The sampling technique was carried out using a systematic sampling technique, with a sample size of 50 respondents. The data will be analyzed using a computer program and SPSS version 25.0. Data analysis used Paired T-Test and Independent T-Test with a significance level of <0.05. The results showed an increase in knowledge, attitudes, behaviour and a decrease in blood sugar levels in both groups after being given treatment with a p-value <0.05, meaning that there was an effect of healthy lifestyle management on knowledge, attitudes, behaviour and blood sugar levels in the prediabetes group.
