Abstract

This study investigated the relation between the level of attitudes exhibited by the gig workers and the degree of turnover intention when working with online delivery platforms. The self-motivation was proposed as two competencies and that mediated the linkage between job insecurity, perceived behavioral control and turnover intention. Survey data were collected from 399 Thai gig workers who worked for online delivery services across Thailand. The result from multiple regression analysis and partial least square regression analysis supported that job insecurity and perceived behavioral control were associated on turnover intention, and extrinsic motivation mediated the linkage between job insecurity and turnover intention.
