Guidelines for Participating in the Community Welfare Management, Nakrai Subdistrict Administration Organization

Abstract

Objectives of the research aimed to (1) study the level of community members involvement in managing community welfare fund and (2) to obtain guidelines for managing the community welfare fund by having community members’ participation. This research was held in Na Khrai Sub-District administrative organization, Kuchinarai District, Kalasin, Thailand. This was conducted by specifically selecting community members from the total of 320 members and dividing them into two groups and using two methods of study: interviewing and questionnaire. The interview method was conducted on the first group having 30 community members and the questionnaire method which provided 0.939 confidence level.


     The study found that: (1) the level of involvement of community members as a whole was at medium level and (2) guidelines for managing community welfare fund by having community members involve can be done as follow: (2.1) in planning process, community fund committee should disseminate information about funds’ activities to community members by means of newsletter or journal and (2.2) in follow-up and evaluation process, community fund committee should provide community members with quarterly report on financial status to increase the involvement of fund member in monitoring the financial activities.
