Abstract

This research work primarily aims to open up a practical pathway for empowering women at the bottom of the pyramid and to lead countries to achieve a comprehensive victory in various Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of UN through shaping the entrepreneurial potential of their women population. The primary cause of the delayed economic development of many nations around the world is the conventional social setting that still views women only as homemakers, despite the fact that they have equal ability like men in every field of employment. Therefore, the present study is attempting to grab the attention of policy makers to upskill the entrepreneurial talents of women in the informal sector especially who are engaged in street vending business. This paper brings up a theoretical model based on ‘emerging theory of entrepreneurial bricolage’ which is suitable in resource constraint poverty contexts which is backed by thorough literature review and in-dept interview conducted among 315 women street entrepreneurs in south India.  The findings of the study aim to bring the attention of policymakers and entrepreneurial practitioners towards the development of women micro-entrepreneurs in the informal markets.
