LITERARY MODELS EMPLOYED BY LITERARY COMMUNITY TO ENHANCE THEIR LITERACY

Abstract

Literary literacy is a reading and writing activity related to literature. Literary literacy needs special attention. One of the efforts made is the emergence of literary communities that seek to maintain the existence of literature in the midst of society. One of the literary communities in Bali is the Lentera literary community. The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of the literary literacy model used in the Lentera literary community. in terms of inputs, activities, outputs, and outcomes. This research is a qualitative research. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was performed by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and summarizing data. The results of this study indicated that from the four existing literary literacy models, the Lentera community applies 3 models in developing literary literacy of its members, namely the response model, the transactional model, and the socio-anthropological model. The implementation of this model can be seen from literary literacy activities which include musicalizing poetry, writing short stories and playing theatre.
