Abstract

This research arises from concern about the existence of abandoned buildings and urban infrastructure, a problem that will increase after the current pandemic, with a negative effect on people's health and well-being. Adaptive reuse through Biophilic design is proposed as an answer for the built environment interventions, and this paper aims to demonstrate its impact through a case study in Taichung, Taiwan and surveys application including the World Health Organization variables and the 14 Patterns of Biophilic Design. The results revealed a significant increase in the participants' perception of health and well-being after being visually in contact with Biophilic design site.
